How do I take care of my Cycad, I feel like it needs something, but not sure what. I put epsom salt and osmocote around the root base last year, it only produced the top and did not put out any leaves. Do you all have any ideas now that I Know its a Cycad I will do more Research thank you for the Id.

Re: Old Palm, New Owner, ID and Maintenance Please

A cycad, not a palm. Very impressive specimen, probably very old given their slow growth rate.

Are the leaves, by any chance, covered with a white coating?

I dont see any White scale on the plant, but I am proud to say it has new leaves sprouting, I cleaned up all the dead limbs, do you think I can safely take off the rest or should I leave them...thank you so much for helping with the health of my cycad.
