Identification: Mushrooms on tree trunk

    Another mushroom from Mayne Island.
    Light brown on both the cap and gills
    Narrow stalk attaching to the trunk of a living tree

    Hi David - these are likely to be Armillaria also

    Thank you. Armillaria is a big genus. This one looks very different from the other flat ones on the ground. Have to read about the genus.
