My Musa Manzano set fruit for the first time in Sept. 2010, and I was hoping to have harvested my first bananas by now, May 2011. The fruit on the stalk hasnt changed very much since last Sept. The bananas are about 3 inches long, thin, very green, and there is a lot of stalk without any fruit. When should the fruit be harvested? Would it help to remove the flower still at the end of the stalk? Any info would be a big help. I live in S. California, Sunset zone 23/24.
