Thanks! I think I had attached a link to an Australia site....They are a lovely palm, and I wish I could grow them here in Vancouver, Canada. Eventhough they are supposed to be good to just below zero celcius (which we do not have for very long over the winter...maybe overnight here and there), they would not do well...

    Too bad..
    thanks a bunch!

Ya honolua, not a hope for this beauty around here. We'll have to be content with the ones we can grow.

    Cheers, LPN.

    Hi LPN!
No worries....not a complaint here...happy to grow what I can grow! Actually, we're pretty lucky with what we have! Glad the weather is improving for us here on the coast, finally.
Anybody have any idea which hisbiscus can grow here? I tried the "red heart" which are supposed to be good to -20 C and they did indeed have a couple of leaves last year (they are only about 1 foot tall twigs at present), but they seem to have died off...no sprouts, leaves yet this year. I attached a picture of this type. Any ideas on how to revive them?

Any ideas about any other ginger or hisbiscus for us in Vancouver?
    thanks,
