I would like to know if anyone know the proper way to prune off a couple of heads from a Sago that has too many. I'm concerned about rot in the spot that a head was removed. Any help would be appreciated.

Why are there "too many"? Maybe this is a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". If you don't cut into it, you don't have to worry about it rotting.

Normaly multi heads are no problem but with this one instead of 3 to 5 it has 8 to 10. Sagos in Florida are getting infested with the Asiatic scale and on the multi heads it is difficult to control. On this one it is near impossible. The best I could do is trim out some of the fronds but it leaves the plant looking unbalanced. i had hoped removing some of the heads would resolve the issues.
