Hi. I'm new to this so please tell me if I've postd in the wrong location. I have recently (2 weeks ago) planted a weeping mulberry tree in our front yard. I've noticed that many of the leaves are turning black. They almost look rotten. I would appreciate any guidance on what to do.... Thanks.
How have you cared for the plant post-planting? How was it planted (e.g. hole-in-ground, add plant or something else?)
It was planted with a hole in the ground. We put fertilizer in with it. I've been watering it daily but have stopped recently in case the problem is too much water. Also, I've noticed that now the leaves on the inside are turning yellow and falling.
Sounds like post-transplant root shock, or burned roots. What fertilizer did you use? What's your soil like (ie loam, sandy, clay)? Are they in full sun or shade? What has the weather been doing lately? It's my experience that mulberries like quite a bit of water, but then again, I'm growing them in a semi-desert biome. Van is much more humid, so they may not need quite so much. If you could post a pic of them, it may help identify the problem.
