Mud nest (?) on my rose bush

    [​IMG]While pruning my roses today, I found this on one of the bushes. It looks like dried mud. What is this and is it harmful to my roses

    Looks like mud wasp activity to me. If that's the case I don't believe they will cause any grief to your roses. I think they may even be considered beneficial to gardens in the pnw. I'm no entomologist though, so hopefully someone else can give you some insight.
