    Can anyone tell me what the botanical terminology is for a plant that climbs in an anticlockwise direction. I was asked & didn't know.

    Dextrorse - spiralling upward left to right
    Sinistrorse - spiralling upward right to left

    This concept puzzled me for a moment. Thinking of the term anticlockwise, I was initially taking a mental view of the phenomenon as if from above. Left or right doesn't make sense from that view. I actually looked up the word to find that dextrorse means anticlockwise or from left to right as viewed from the front of a vertical spiral.

    So I guess the video of the morning glory twining at this link shows dextrorse spiraling:
