Hey, All. I just moved to NYC from Los Angeles and my house plant (an epipremnum a) is dying quickly. Seems like it needs some drastic measure to save it. When it came in it was small, but healthy, after the travel and about a week of being here it's droopy and not taking up water and drying up. It went from bedraggled, but firm stems to something that looks like long, wet hair. I've had the plant for over a year and haven't changed anything but it's locale. Soil stays soggy as the plant has stopped taking up water!! The air is very dry here. Never much more than 40% humidity... anyone? http://picasaweb.google.com/don.m.thompson/Help?authkey=xhi2ZIob4W4&feat=directlink Please help!
I think it's wilting because it's soil is too wet, it might be an idea to place it somewhere warm for a few days so some of the water evaporates and not water until the surface of the soil is dry. The only thing i think it would not like is the dry air but i wouldn't mist with the soil that wet.
if the current roots aren't doing anything and the soil is soggy there is probably rot happening. i would take cuttings and root them and start over. some of the leaves look like it's been too cold - how did you get it across the country??
