    Hello,

Simple question for you all. I read some place (and can't find it again) that crumbling up dry moss and sprinking the dust about will work for propagation. Is this true? I know of blending it with water or milk and spraying the liquid, but if the moss is dried is it still viable?

    Many thanks,
    M.

yes dried is fine. The water will re-constitute the moss. You can put the clean moss in a blender with some yogurt and clay with a little water-puree smooth- 'paint' with brush onto surfaces you want the moss to grow on. The clay helps the moss stick & the yogurt(or buttermilk) feeds the moss. I LOVE moss!

great thanks. I wanted it to grow around bonsai trees. It adds a real "finished" effect.

Just be careful that you don't try so hard to keep it alive with water that you end up drowning your bonsai!

Not a problem. Soil is mostly Akadama and grit with a bit of bark. I designed it to handle the rainy winters.

Thanks again for your pointers on soil designs, Rima. I think I learned well. :)
