This creeper vine thing has invaded my landscaping. I thought maybe it was a morning glory species, but the leaves look different to me. I don't know much about wild plants though! It has pretty periwinkle blue type bell flowers that open in the mornings...they kind of look like a petunia flower...I have no idea what it is, but it's choking my other plants out.

I would agree, looks like Ipomoea tricolor, maybe 'Heavenly Blue'.

It does look a lot like the heavenly blue morning glories...but why are the leaves shaped differently? Is that because it's wild? I just looked up the heavenly blue morning glory and the leaf shape was more like an arrowhead...why do the leaves on the one in my garden have a three pointed shape?

Yes, the leaves on your plant are lobed, so it is not I. tricolor, but some other Ipomoea or Convovulaceae.
