    Hi:

These ones were all photographed at the beginning of August here in West Van. Your thoughts as to species and varieties?

    Thanks,
    Michelle

    Hi Ron:

Do you know what kind of day lily? What kind of rose? And a blue one I posted earlier was also a Hibiscus syriacus, a Oiseu Bleu. The one above is pinkish, and I have another similar one in white with a purplish center. All, if I understand correctly, are Hibiscus syriacus, but do you know the common name for the different colored flowers?

Thanks for all your help so far; you've been great.
    Michelle

Try daylily and rose forums on GardenWeb and elsewhere. GW actually has a specific rose identification forum. Both kinds of flowers number in the thousands but you can probably at least find out what the rose is. If somebody gives you a name for the daylily be sure to check it out yourself, there are probably tens of thousands of daylily cultivars. Some will look quite like one another but not be the same.
