Wildflowers: Montia(Miner's Lettuce)?

    We saw this growing lower down on the mountain side near Chilliwack Lake area William's Ridge.

    Thank you. In the referance book (Trees shrubs and flowers to Know in B.C. C.P. Lyons ) has it is listed as a shrub?

    Linnaea borealis has a woody base with long slender wire like branches.
    Perennial plants die back and disappear completely in winter. Shrubs/sub shrubs have a woody structure above ground, even in winter. So yes, it is a shrub/subshrub even although it is so low growing.

    There are also evergreen herbaceous perennials such as Bergenia and Helleborus.
