monkey tree

  1. What is the hardiness of the monkey tree? We live in the Okanagan. Can it take -10 degress C?

    The USDA lists Araucaria araucana as 7b on their hardiness zones. That would mean a minimum annual temperature range of -12.3 to -14.9 C. So you may have success in the Okanagan. Have you seen any other specimens in the area?

    If you decide to try growing one I would give it protection through the first winters until it is established. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
