Monkey Tree, planting & care

    Davis Bay, Sunshine Coast, BC
    We just got a tree & are ready to plant it. We are on the Sunshine Coast of BC. most things grow here all year. We are planting in a sunny location in sandy soil. Need some help on planting & care. The tree is three feet high. Thanks.

    Hello Barry,

    Yes, lots of info in this forum on the tree. I moved your thread here for better response. You may want to read though the other threads here and there is a Search This Forum button on the main page of the forum (on the right end of the forum's title bar.)

    I don't know a great deal about them, so will defer to other members, but one thing I do know is Araucaria araucana needs room to grow. They do not respond well to pruning.

    Moist climate species, if sandy = droughty in this instance mulching and irrigation may be required for best growth and appearance. (Mulching a good idea generally, not just with this subject).
