monkey puzzle

    i have a monkey puzzle which died off, but came back up in 2 seperste stalks. it is now 18inches high,but looks more like a bush than a tree.
    can i split the plant and make 2 seperate trees or will i kill it.
    or can i remove 1 of the shoots to leave 1 straight stalk.

    Liable to be a single, undivisible plant. Keep the larger shoot and cut the smaller off.
