Hello my money tree has done great however now I see some tips turn brown then color of leaf looks like it fades and turns yellow what can I do these are mostly at bottom half
Hello, and welcome to the forum. There are a couple of plants called "Money Tree", but I assume you have Pachira aquatica, the most common one? Is there any chance of including a picture? Has anything changed lately in it's location, like recently being brought home from the store or moved to another window? These do like humidity, and often will decide to keep only half as many leaves at one time if moved to a lower humidity area. The main think is to keep on eye on the new leaves and make sure it is steadily turning out big healthy new ones. :)
Hello it has been in same window.I was away.2.MOS BUT.THEY.WATERED it every sunday like I.did.it is mostly lower leaves that are getting brown on tips.new growth is hugh.I started to mist it once a day.so anyorher ideas? Some leaves get like aspeckled look but not on.new growth. Any more idea. Rhanks
Is the misting a newer practice? It is a common myth that it helps with humidity issues in a dry house. Actually it evaporates too quickly to help, and just opens up the stomata on the leaf surface. They are slower to close than the evaporation that dries the leaf, and so misting often results in a net loss of moisture within the plant. A better, similar option is to thoroughly wash the leaves, over & under, once in awhile on a watering day. Pachira aquatica is one of those good-growing plants that can seem to "outgrow" almost any malady with enough light, water, fertilizer, & humidity. Give it those four and it will fix itself. :)
So not to worry about leave tips turbo.g..yes I just started to mist so I will wash.is it true you mix part alcohol and water? What part alcohol? Thanks
The alchohol thing is to kill bugs, like a poison. If you don't specifically have a bug problem then I wouldn't use it, as it can harm the plant too. When I wash plant leaves I like to use the kitchen sink sprayer or the "flat" setting one one of those 5-in-1 hose nozzels at the home center, to really blast off dust, grime, sap, and the occasional bug.
