HI, I have a very old Mission Fig tree in my back yard. It must be 25+ years old. Every year we get so many figs our dogs end up gaining 10 lbs with all the drops. This year though, we haven't gotten but a few. The first crop was there, then dissapeared in a few days without getting ripe, and the second crop has almost been non-exsistent. Some of the figs that are on the tree are very small and turned in-side-out! Has anyone else had this problem? We usually get probably 300-500 figs on this tree... very troubling.

Hi miuraliz what was the winter like in LA? Could the fruit have been damaged by frost?

our winter was VERY mild, no frost, we really didn't have hardly any rain either. I was now thinking that maybe there is not enough water... We don't have a water line to the tree, it has always been fine, maybe there is not enough water deep down where the roots are.

I think you're right. I've lost figs to lack of water. Hopefully your tree will recover next year. Fresh figs are such a treat.
