has anyone had success growing this very fragrant lilac in a largish pot?...mine did not bloom this year and i think it does not get enough sun...the only location i have with more sun would be on my deck...and here i would also be able to enjoy the blooms!

    thanks in advance,

magnolia needs some cold weather in the winter to set bud properly. let it get a bit dry in the fall/winter and make sure it isnt too protected in light to medium frost day during the Winter time.

I'm confused. Are you saying that lilac is a magnolia?

I have Miss Kim growing in a pot for 3 years now and it does great. The only problem I had was the first year in a 1 gallon pot when I didn't water it properly and the flower buds aborted but it's been fine since then in a larger pot.
