I bought it a few days ago and left it in the sun but it seems like the leaves have gone dry even though I soaked it through an drained it. If I can identify it I figured I would be able to find out more info on how to take care of it. Currently it's resting in the shade of my room bc I think the sun might have burnt it. Thanks in advance for any help!

Might be Dracaena reflexa 'Variegata', Song of India.

Thanks for the quick reply! I looked it up, but they seem pretty big - this guy's only about 13 inches tall. Maybe a seedling?

My first thought was of a plant that has been growing in a less than ideal environment, perhaps with a lack of light. You may want to post some closeup pictures of the leaves and stems to help get a positive identification.

It looks like a variegated cultivar of Dracaena surculosa, Spotted Dracaena. Compare with the one in the last photo on this page. Unfortunately there is no cultivar name associated with it.

Here is another page with a number of photos of various cultivars D. surculosa.

Dracaena surculosa cv. friedmannii might be a match.

Thanks guys! The funny thing is, I didn't really notice the spots until you guys named it, and I realized that I had a bigger version somewhere else in the house! Now I have to do some research as to why there is leaf drop... Thanks again!
