I've had this mini palm for a little over a year. I got it from a friend who moved who had it for over a year too. I'm wondering what kind of palm it is? Also, it is dying. I'm not sure why it has started dying. I've always watered it once a week. Is there something that I can do to help it regrow? Thanks!

    OK Melanie,

What you have there is a Dracaena marginata. It is not a palm.
They prefer bright light. I am wondering if your pot has drainage holes in it, as it looks like it is overwatered to me...

Now that I think about it, it definitely doesn't look like a palm tree. Not sure why I thought that. :) thanks.
It does have drainage holes at the bottom. I really only water it on thursdays. How much water should I be giving it? I get some light in my room but not a lot. Maybe I should move it outside for awhile to get some light?

If you can do that, it would love it. All the ones I have at home are in full sun, so they can handle it. Does it get cold in Phoenix in winter?

Well right now it's about low 80s, high 70s. Been pretty warm. It'll probably only get down to the 40s or 50s at night and warmer during the day.
