Canadian Tire - of all places - had some earlier this year......long gone now. Try some of the larger garden centers in the spring.

I have a "chocolate" silk tree (purchased online about 5 years ago from a company that no longer exists) that flowered for the first time this year and I will be trying to see if I can get the seeds to sprout......

    * the "chocolate" leaves take on a brownish tinge when exposed to sunlight

The ones from Canadian Tire bounce back up if they get blown over.

The brown clone is sold using the Summer Chocolate handle. Stock I have seen here has tended to be pricey. For me the thing to do is look for pinker flowered selections, liable to be sold as 'Rosea' as these show up much better in bloom than the ordinary pale ones.

Are you still looking for a silk tree? I was at Phoenix Perennials in Richmond yesterday and they have about 3 or 4 - about 5-6 ft tall and listed at $114.99 with 30% off (they close for the season on November 1st and don't re-open until early spring)

    Will it withstand there?

    No problem.
I've had mine for about 5 years now; purchased on line and was only about 30 inches tall. Now it is over 8 feet tall and flowered for the first time this year.

Just to be clear, people are writing about Albizia julibrissin here, common name mimosa, not the Mimosa genus.
