Lovely leaves. Just wondering if it is still attractive 6 or 8 weeks after coming into leaf? I've had a couple of seedlings that I've kept long after I binned the rest. They look great at first but then loose their looks.
Agreed, this is why the nurseries may find 1 in 100 that could be promising to cultivate. But Todd's seedling could be just that one.
This seedling has been leafed out for more than 8 weeks now. All my Mikawa types got a very early start this year. I have two more seedlings still holding color as well.. And to me Mikawa never looses it looks, even when it’s just plain jane green it’s still a work of art.. IMG_6469.jpeg
