I was at the local botanical gardens today and they let the indigenous flora grow throughout the garden. It's pretty but it drives me crazy when trying to ID flowers while still at the garden.

I took this today and think it's a wild rose but it does look like a few other things. At first I thought it might be a Silene but I've changed my thinking. There are no thorns on the plant and I only have a marginal picture of the leaves. The leaves don't really look like the wild roses that I'm familiar with.

Any idea what this is ?

    Thanks in advance
    Charles

No, I don't think so as all Helianthemum are either yellow or white; possibly a slight pink tinge. This is clearly pink, but it does resemble Helianthemum nummularium; which is yellow.

    Thanks

Darn wikipedia, just found a pink rock rose, Helianthemum 'Rosakonigen' on the gaphotos.com website. So I guess that Helianthemum is still in the running.

White, pink, orange, yellow, red...a classic pink found at outlets here is 'Rhodanthe Carneum' ('Wisley Pink').

    Could it be Cistus?
