We have a beautiful meyer lemon tree about three years old. It is in a very large pot situated on our balcony gets excellent sunlight especially in the afternoon. It is watered heavily twice every week and fed regularly. The leaves are healthy, dark green and there are many blossoms, however the early fruit (about the size of a glass marble) have turned yellow and dropped off. Meanwhile the heavy blossoms are producing bunches of very baby fruit. We are situated in Sydney, Australia and last year this tree produced about 25 really nice lemons. Can you suggest what the problem might be?

There probably is no problem at all with your Meyer lemon tree. What your tree is experiencing is normal behavior for a citrus tree. A Meyer lemon tree, in fact all citrus varieties, only mature 1-2 percent of the bloom to maturity. If all the original fruit that was originally"set" by the tree remained attached and grew to maturity the tree would be crushed under it own weight. There are literally hundreds of posts on this forum talking about this exact question. Using the search function on this site, will give you all the information you need. - Millet
