While visiting Mexico last June.. I saw a tree with foot-long almost boomerang shaped FLAT seed pods. they were dark brown and contained probably 20 seeds that were about an inch long and a tanish/greenish brown color. In the photo it appears that the leaves are solid long shaped with flat tips. Maybe palm like but with tips cut off? the ones with flowers were red in color. I have researched and found a similar tree called Delonix regia but it seems the leaves are more fern like. I can not remember the flower shapes exactly, but i think they were almost mandivilla shaped but I could be totally off. If i really look close, it does appear that the leaves on the tree are like a mimosa.. and if you really look hard, maybe there were some Pink old blooms on this particular one. Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!!
