    Hello,
I'd like to submit a photo for the Botany Photo of the Day. This is a photo of stamens from a Mexican Hand Tree (Chiranthodendron pentadactylon) which I saw at the botanic garden in Wellington, New Zealand in November 2008. I ran into the very macabre-looking stamens on the ground, having no idea what they were (they looked like amputated bird feet to me). After looking around I discovered the tree they were from, and managed a photo of a flower on the tree, as well as one of a dried flower pod I found later.
    Thank-you,
    Tuula Talvila

Sorry, the third photo is a seed pod, not a "flower pod"!
