About 2 months ago I bought two Mexican Fan Palm's about 3 feet tall. They both were doing great until about a week ago and then one of the trees is showing damage. There are about 5 fans on the tree and two of them are turning yellow and dying. These are planted in two very large containers and are in direct sun. Am I watering too much? Do I need to cut these off or leave them on the tree. Do I need to let the soil get dry before watering again? Thanks

You've virtually answered your questions. Many palms sulk after replanting and will exibit these symptoms. Don't rush to cut the fading fronds, wait until they're quite brown. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings.

    Cheers, LPN.
