Hi all, Does anyone know of any Washingtonia Robusta (Mexican Fan) or Washingtonia Filfera (California Fan) that have survived around here? (Pacific Northwest, more specifically, Vancouver Island). I experimented with germinating them and I now have 50-75 of each that are approx. 6 inches tall. Any tips or insight? Thanks April
They freeze out. One near me still exists because it is next to a huge vent that apparently gets it through the winter. Unwary people plant both Washingtonia and Trachycarpus, end up with just Trachycarpus.
