Hi! I just lost my beloved pooch of 15 years.

I want to plant a really special tree in memory of her. I would like to have it in a pot (it's a very large pot) so that if we ever move I can take it with me) And I was hoping the tree could characterize some of her qualities. (She was one of a kind, beautiful, dependable, very tough and resilient)

I loved the idea of some variety of yew but I have small children and I can't take the chance with the berries. I like the idea of an evergreen or conifer , but am not limited to it. I prefer a smallish tree, but could possibly do a shrub. I am in zone 8.

I am an avid gardener and I do have quite a few interesting and beautiful plants already which makes it a little more difficult. However, I live in a small town and generally the local nurseries don't stock overly rare or unusual plants. I am willing to travel for this one. Vancouver is close by for me, so is Van Is.

I so much appreciate your time and thought here. Thanks in advance! This is harder than I thought.

    Sincerely, Stephanie
