This shrub is on Rose Garden Lane, across from the Stanley Park Rose Garden. I don't remember how tall, maybe a little more than a meter. Leaves are in bundles or start in bundles, and are whorled but twisted to appear distichous, with the hairy sides (flat hairs) all facing the same direction. I can't say I figured out if the hairs are on the top or bottom - bottom, I think. Leaf petioles are fuzzy. There is an out-of-focus spent flower, looks a little familiar. I have a feeling I'm supposed to at least have more of an idea about this than I do.
Hi Wendy The fruit is saying "I'm a myrtle" to me. Callistemon I'd say. We're a little slow down here. Our botanists have yet to rename them as Melaleuca. ta
