Does anyone know what this might be? Perhaps it is not a "cupressus" at all . westgate.

Mediterranean cypress may be a true cypress (Cupressus species), but the name is unfamiliar to me and does not appear to be a commonly used common name. The name cypress is used for a variety of (mostly aromatic) conifers or conifer look-alikes.

If you have a picture or can describe the plant in some detail, a forums user may be able to help you to identify it. Other helpful information would include, where you got the plant and who identified it under the name Mediterranean cypress.

After asking about the above tree, I did some research and found that it is, actually, an Italian Cypress - cupressus sempervirens stricta. So, now I know! westgate.
