I have a mayer lemon tree that I started from a seed. The problem is that some of the leaves are getting black spots on them. I live in Texas where the weather is relatively warm all the time. My plant is potted, and stays on the front patio, where it receive sun in the morning and shade in the evening. I water the plant once a week. What can I do to get rid of the spotted black leaf problem?
Is there any chance you could post a picture? It would be hard to say what is causing the spots without more info, but I can tell you that watering on a schedule is not good for citrus. You should check the soil with your finger and only water when it is dry at least a couple inches down. It will need more water in summer and less in winter. Skeet
I read the information that was given to eleni, it appears that we have the same problem. After looking at the pictures posted, I inspected my plant, and find that the leaves on top have the black moldy dust, and underneath there are tiny white bugs, I will try the soap and veg oil solution that you'll suggested. I thank you for your help.
