Maybe cherry tree?

    Master Gardener clinic here--we're stumped. Client brought in a small sapling for ID. Someone gave it to him--said it came from somewhere near Grants Pass OR. Doesn't know if it's cultivated or wild. It's very young, and he received it when it was dormant. See photos. Any help would be appreciated. Thx

    Cherries never have leaves with lobes, this may be a crabapple.
