Just in the order in which I saw them, and maximum 10 photos per posting, here are plants that amused me on May 30.

This Rosa 'Cooper's Burmese', just past the entrance gate, seems past its peak flowering, but it looks particularly nice now with so much pink on the older flowers. I don't know how long the flowering period lasts. It looks great now.

The Indigofera kirilowii was featured on the garden's Facebook page today (well, it's yesterday now). This is Indigofera amblyantha, in the same area, with smaller flowers.

Thanks to Eric La Fountaine for pointing out the evergreen Magnolia chevalieri just coming into bloom.

Deutzia hookeriana is in bloom now, getting lots of attention from bees and a Vanessa atalanta - Red Admiral butterfly.

This has to be Calycanthus chinensis, nice showy flowers.

The opposite of showy flowers are on Alangium platanifolium. If you don't lift the leaves, you never see them at all. Nadia and I were very upset when this was cut down last year, but it's coming back.

I believe the Alangium was cut back to the base, not cut down, after having collapsed after a storm.

The Alangium platanifolium has grown back pretty quickly.
