These aren't even new, but they're favourites.

First favourite is Neolitsea sericea, in its new-leaves-softer-than-a-kitten phase.

Similar only in the hairiness of the leaves is Magnolia wilsonii, in peak bloom. I didn't even need the tag to recognize it (but I did find the tag). It's so hard to see inside most magnolia flowers, but not these - they hang down from overhead. And there are lots of hairs, on the flower stems and leaf stems, and in the last photo you can see them on the margin of the darkest leaf and the back of the leaf at the upper left.

In contrast, Magnolia sieboldii, Oyama magnolia, with its smaller, outward-facing flowers, and no hairs, looks very different. It also has just started to open.
