We have had an orange tree for 10 years. It has produced great oranges. This year there are several branches that have thorns on them and the oranges are small and they taste like lemons. They are orange in color and the only difference is that they have a point on the bottom that resembels a lemon.
I could understand this if it was a seperate trunk/branch however these branches are coming off of other branches that produce oranges.
    Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help. The photos of the Citrus medica look like what I have. It just seemed so weird after many years of great juicy oranges to have a few branches in the main tree produce things that look like oranges but taste like lemons.
I wonder if we cut the lemon producing branches off if they will reproduce again nexy year? Or if we not not see lemons on the orange tree for another 10 years?
