I have several mature 60 ft. cedar trees on my half acre lot in Brookswood area of Langey. The soil is sand and gravel. All the trees appear to be healthy except one. This one tree has thinnng foliage, with the foliage even from top to bottom (no top of tree die off). Each year as it looses its brown foliage, less grows back and now it appears very thin. I have irrigation and have greatly increased it watering. There appears to be no bugs. I am looking for a Cedar expert to help me, even if its to tell me its dying. I expect to pay for the service. Any recommendations apriciated. thanks Glen
Look under "arborist" in the telephone directory. Also, International Society of Arboriculture has a web site, through which you can probably identify and contact local arborists who are members.
Definitely your best bet is the phone book. Ask a couple of companies to come by and give you an opinion and recommendations. I recently had to call some arborists, and in one case they charge $30 for a consultation and take that off the bill if you get them to do the work; if not, I found the fellow's input to be worth at least that amount. I don't know if the companies I called work in Langley, perhaps you have a local phone directory? I'm going to email you off-list with a couple of company names in any case.
