Marlene sent me this picture to identify since no-one seems to know what it is, myself included. Marlene lives near Toronto ON and the plant started to bloom mid-August. Thank you for your assistance.

What are the chances of a larger image?

It's Heliotropium arborescens - I'd recognize those flowers anywhere! It should have a pleasant, sweet cherry vanilla sort of scent.

Sorry about the size ... I did try to enlage it but it wouldn't cooperate. Lorax has correctly idenified it as Heliotrope (common name) -- Marlene and her neighbours will be pleased. Thank you so much for your help. Veronica

lorax ... heliotrope was on the tip of my tongue and I thank you for removing it.
