I found this article very interesting reading this morning.
Phys.org: Study finds that red maples were more productive in an environment with more urbanization.

Now I know 2020 has been a strange year everywhere for colours with maples in our gardens and it was suggested that the lockdown which decreased pollution levels around the world may have been the cause, well this scientific study has opened up an interesting theory and debate on red maples.

Very true, but I expect the photo for the report was added by the publisher. Probably the first reddish looking one they found, Lol.
