Thankfully the weather has been cooperative here in Tennessee to let me not have to finish up my walkway and conifer garden in 30 degree cold.

To recap, the walkway is about 220ft long and 20ft wide and contains over 20 Japanese Maples from 3ft to 11ft. There are also over 60 conifers that are on the path and in the far part of the attached pic is the conifer walking garden that's the last piece being completed.

The cut logs that line the walkway were from trees that fell in the spring after we had a tornado clear out the back of our property making the trees available to be cut.

It's been a very fun project and I'll continue to add post as it nears completion.

    Interesting facts
    55 cubic yards of mulch
    2 chainsaw chains
    384 cut logs
    1.5 tons of stones

Wow!! Great job!!! Looks fantastic! If you could, would you list the cultivars you've planted (Acers and conifers)?

    Thanks!

The conifers are mostly chamacyparis obtusa in the walkway. In the conifer garden the list is very long.

    MM,

Great job, Looks like you have been very busy. I like the usage of the conifers in with the maples. Looking at your project and K4s project I would say that the TN maple collectors have been very very busy. Keep the pictures coming.

    Update

As the colder weather finally settles into Tennessee I've finished 98% of my maple and conifer garden. The mulch has been laid and decorative stones have been placed.

The last maples added were a acer palmatum "Shidiva Gold","corralinium", and two mystery maples. One cultivar labeled "Roy's Red" and another I believe to be either a japonicum or a shirasawanum, the nursery had no clue but it is an impressive tree.

Here are some updated pics that mostly highlight the conifers due to that deciduous problem maples have.
