Mango in Richmond !?

    There are 2 of this kind of small trees in Garden City Park
    in Richmond. Bipinnate leaves and fruits about 3 inches
    at present. Mango, a tropical fruit, is a wild guess.

    The nuts of the Asian walnut species, of which this appears to be an example are perfectly edible. (Compare also with butternut (Juglans cinerea)).

    So you're saying this is Juglans ailantifolia(?). A search on "Asian walnut" brings up J. mandshurica.
    I meant these aren't the walnuts we see for sale in stores.

    species was used in plural, as in

    The (more than one) Asian walnut species
