Malvaceae. But which genus and sp.

    These plants I found growing together, the plant in the background has reached a height of 6 ft or more, Those in the forground three or four feet. The diameter of the flower is no more than 2 1/2 cm or 1 inch. As can be seen in the photographs the petals are of a very light pink, or perhaps lilac. I have looked amongst my books and on internet but have not been able to decide the ID. Appreciate member's help.

    Looks like Lavatera thuringiaca.
