    This is what is left of my very first majesty palm. I have had this plant now for about 3 to 4 months maybe longer. Does anyone know when it will open. I mist it twice a day morning and evening. I don't want to throw it away, but I don't know if it is really doing anything.
    Any advice? -:)

    How much light is your palm getting? It's definitely very sad:{
    Palms like plenty of water in a well drained soil and regular fertilising with a lawn type fertiliser. Low light usually does not bother them too much, especially while young, but a very dim and dark position could well be detrimental. Most palms are also not very tolerant of cold conditions.

    It is now next to my other one which is facing south. This room has the most light almost all day. My apartment is very warm with out even putting on the heat. Around 20C or around 80F. I just don't understand why it's taking so long.

    That's not too bad so long as your minimum temperature doesn't drop too low for extended periods. How fresh is the mix it's in and how wet is it; especially at bottom? Do the roots look white and healthy?

    Does your pot have drainage holes?

    The soil is moist not to wet and soggy. As far as the drainage the water goes to the bottom of the dish type thing and I sponge that out so it's not sitting in it. I'll wait. -:)
