    Palmar,
I noticed from the threads that you have a pretty good idea on how to raise a Majestic Palm, however, I have a question for you...It gets about 20-30 degrees here in Mississippi in the winter, do I cut my palm down to the ground every year and start over the next or is there another way to protect the roots from the freeze?

    Thanks, kelliep1

Unfortunetly Majesty palms do not grow back once the crown has been damaged or cut. The crown is the middle where the fronds come out of. If you are interested in growing palms in your yard maybe a chinese windmill palm would work better. They are very cold hardy, I am not sure what zone Mississippi is in, but that might be a better option, and that tree you do not have to cut just put some mulch around the trunk to protect from the winter. Some of the others might have a better method of protecting palms from the winter cold.
