I have had this majesty palm for about 2 weeks and it has been steadily declining in health. I think it did not have good enough drainage at first but I fixed that problem by not letting water sit in the bottom of the pot. I have been misting daily but it has not improved. There are two new leaves emerging and they seem healthy. I am hoping to keep this plant alive. Should I cut the unhealthy fronds off?

    thanks

You should re-post your request on this topic to the "Indoor & Greenhouse Plants" section. This plant category is "Outdoor Tropicals ..."

    Cheers, LPN.

I also had the same problem with my first and second Majesty Palms. I have done some research and assistance from this site and my second palm is doing much better.
These palms are home to Madagascar river banks and can be difficult to grow during the winter months. Keep the soil moist "not wet". I also use a liquid plant furtilizer that mixes in the water each time I water.
Mist the fronds about twice a week. If possible an east facing window is best.
Cut the dead and dying fronds about 3" from the trunk. I also trim the dried out tips of the leaves.
Also keep a watch for spidermites this time of year.
    Good Luck.
