Which boarers are likely to attack a mature magnolia tree and how would you treat? It is in the mid atlantic area of the us. Thanks Ron

I would suggest you contact a tree care company that has qualified plant health care people on staff to have a look at the tree and suggest treatment methods. Borers are not easy to treat and generally homeowners dont have access to and dont have the right equipment to apply them properly. Consider a Mauget (injection) type system or a product called Endosulfan (Lindane is the older chemical used for borers but I have heard it is a nasty one so I wouldn't suggest it).
