    Dear all,

I replaced a dead grandiflora back in October with a nice new DD Blanchard and have guarded it against the elements over the days of heavy snowfall and heavy rain we've had this winter on the North Shore.

The tree has survived ok but I'm noticing small black dots on some of the leaves and also the odd leaf where the egdes look as if they've been 'burned' and turned to ash. I will post a picture a soon as I get the chance but in the meantime I'd appreciate if anybody could take a guess at the cause and suggest a remedy.

    Thanks

    Chris

PS - The grandiflora died due to a failed transplanting

    Dear all,

Ok, back with some pictures which show the DD Blanchard's leaf condition in various stages. I've also noticed that the back side of the leaf is not as dark as it should be - is this symptomatic of a wider systemic problem.

    Any advice gratefully received.

    Chris

Such injuries are common. I'm more concerned about all the little yellow flecks, wonder if those might indicate a virus.

    Hi Ron,

Thanks for the reply, I guess there's nothing much I could do about a viral infection ?
