Help please. I left my 5 foot red and light green (not sure which type it is) thin leafed tree in the car and all the leaves fell off. is there a way to revive it or have i done the unthinkable? is it possible to knick the branches to encourage growth? break the thinner twigs perhaps? any help would be greatly appreciated.

    sad:(

Typical behavior of any plant when caught in an atmosphere of rapidly increasing temperatures. The leaves dropped because of excessive transpiration somewhat comparable to a monsoon drough. It is likely your tree wil survive as osmotic pressure can handle a height of 5 feet, if the height is greater then you need the transpiration vacuum pull to get the water to the stomatas. This could not be possible if air columns have replaced all the water columns in the xylem vessels of the plant, in which case your plant will die.
If this happens to me I would be sadder for the plant as I would treat it as cruelty to plants (provided plants can feel stress/a debatable point anyhow)

    Jamkh, are you still here?

    Surfer,

The only hope for your plant is time and TLC. Place it in a warm, bright (indirect light) place were it won't get wind or kicked to knocked over. Water sparingly. If it has no leaves then it's not using much water. Use your finger in the pot to test and only water when the first several inches of the soil are dry.

Don't feed it or fuss over it. Just let it be and give it time to recover. Your plant is in the ICU and with a little luck it will pull though.
