I have Curly Willow branches that I buy through a florist. They nave starting to root in water. Leaves are popping out. I change the water every 2/3 days. How do I keep it alive? Where should it be in the house? The branches are green .
Needs to be outside, in the soil in a large garden. Be warned, it grows into a large tree 15-20m tall, with very wide-spreading, invasive roots; keep it at least 30-40m away from buildings and service lines.
Salix sachalinensis 'Sekka' Japanese Fantail Willow. You can keep them shorter and produce better fans by pollarding them annually, but still invasive. http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/hort/consumer/factsheets/trees-new/salix_sachhalinensis.html
